Alleviate Poverty

Empowering people can help eradicate poverty as empowered people will become self-reliant through their skills that they have learned, they can have jobs which they will use to take off their families. If there is no one in the family to take care of the children and other relatives, poverty will increase and thereby entire family will suffer due to economic reasons.

When people are empowered they are equipped with skills and knowledge with which they will be able to earn a living. In this way, they will both be able to get paid employment or start up a business and earn an income. Earning income is the first step towards poverty eradication.

Indus Canada Foundation through its local partners works closely in remote rural areas in South Asia to perform a need analysis, impact on society, and then execute projects such as equipping women to do home based small businesses, helping men to open small grocery shops to help them earn income for better financial stability, and other opportunities to help families get out of poverty. Live for Humanity also works on projects for self sustainment of poor masses around the globe to empower them to earn their livelihood. The objective of such projects is to help people with clean, safe water, especially during times of natural disaster; and marginalized groups learn about their rights to basic necessities of life for living a respectable life.
