Celebrating Indus Valley Culture

The Indus Canada Foundation (Indus) is dedicated to promoting the rich heritage and culture of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization. The organization also aims at promoting Cultural Diversity towards acceptance of various cultures. languages and heritage in the Canadian multiculturalism society. Indus has collaborated with other like minded cultural organization in Alberta to promote diverse cultures from various parts of the world.

Indus members through their advocay and years of efforts were instrumental in seeking official recognition for 'Sindhi Culture Day' from the Government of Alberta in 2018, marking Alberta the first province in the world providing such recognition. The offical Sindhi Culture Day was observed in Calgary in December 2018 under the auspices of the Government of Alberta.

Indus is organzing annual cultural exhibitions and musical events on Sindhi Culture Day since 2016, bringing the vibrant traditions of Sindh to the Alberta's diverse communities.

Indus has organized multiple mystic Sufi Musical Festivals (2017, 2018, 2023) and Indus Valley Cultural Festivals (2019, 2020, 2022, 2023) which have been successful in bringing together people from different cultural backgrounds and fostering understanding and appreciation of different traditions.

Indus also took part in various cultural promotion activities in Calgary, Alberta, and organized multiple social events featuring artists from Sindh. These events aimed to raise awareness about Sindhi culture, fostering understanding and appreciation for its unique heritage. Through these initiatives, Indus created a bridge between cultures, reinforcing the value of multiculturalism in Canada.
