Providing Clean Drinking Water

The Indus Canada Foundation (Indus) has implemented a project to provide clean drinking water through solar-powered pumping systems in four villages of District Thar. These systems were designed to extract water from 110 feet underground using a motor powered by solar panels. The extracted water was then stored in tanks for daily consumption, significantly reducing the hard labor involved in obtaining clean water. This project has had a substantial impact, providing safe and clean drinking water for over 5,000 people and thousands of livestock in these villages and surrounding areas.

Indus has also installed water hand pumps in various rural communities throughout Sindh province to provide clean drinking water to people at their door steps.

Indus has installed filtered water systems in two girls' schools in Diplo District Thar, ensuring that students have access to safe drinking water.

These initiatives do not only improve the quality of life for local inhabitants but also contribute to the sustainable development of these rural communities.
